A psychologist named Christopher Ryan was asked about this subject and gave his opinion. He said there were no prostitutes in the Stone Age. There was no money back then, and the sex was much less limited than it is today.

Furthermore, he says that prostitution is realized today by the fact that marriage is viewed as dirty. A concept that did not exist ten thousand years ago. Today, writes Ryan, people pay prostitutes because they don't want to risk their reputation, family stability, and wealth. Meanwhile, such things were not previously endangered.
