Prizren needs funds for defence

The Kosovo Parliament's decision that Prizren will be the historic capital has welcomed the Prime Ministers. They say their town deserves such an epithet, however, said funds are needed for its preservation.

The targets of the Prizren League, Kale and many other monuments are being recognised. Prizren is only waiting for President Hashim Thaci's signing to be officially declared Kosovo's historic capital.

MPs made the decision by voting in the package with Pristina as the administrative capital.

And for historian Progress, Kosovo's vote on lawmakers confirms the historic role this city carries in itself.

And Prizren Mayor Mytaher Haskuka is expecting the administration to overcome symbolic character in the future by complying with separate laws and funds.

Legal recognition of the historical impact is the current government's second major step towards recognising Prizren's values.
