At the Dubrava corrective Centre alone, the value of deposits that have not been returned to prisoners totals 17 thousand and 553 euros. The general audience has found that in all corrective centers, this figure amounts to 32 thousand and 647 euros, writes Infocus.
In the Kosovo Correcting Service, the institution, which is responsible for these deposits, their return is being argued that some of the prisoners after their release are not interested in the means you have remained as deposit.
But the law regulates the cases of the prisoners.
“According to the Law on criminal sanctions and financial regulation 09-2012 for trust funds, the USKK is responsible for maintaining evidence of admissions, returns, and for the state of deposit of prisoners. High checks also establish that personal items and deposited money should be returned to prisoners after their release”, the report that has drafted the National Audition Office for the Ministry of Justice.
And this office, not turning the tools of prisoners who end sentences or are released, considers it contrary to applicable rules. As it adds, it increases the risk of these devices being exposed to misuse.
The audience recommends that through the USKK General Director make sure that the relevant officials, who are in charge of managing the prison's money, on the grounds of the completion of the sentences, each person released from prison returns the tools they have in deposit.
