Everyone prefers public sector work, says holiday weekends are off

The main reason for the desire for employment in this sector, according to them, is that this sector is consistently favoured by the Government, wages are higher, safer contracts, conditions for more comfortable jobs, not on weekends, but on official holidays.
Burim Gashi has completed his studies at the Faculty of Philosophy. To secure a job, he says he consistently conducts contests in public institutions, namely in public enterprises.
The source, meanwhile, is not interested in seeing the possibility of employment in the private sector, because, as he says, work in this sector is not certain.
I'm interested in working in the public sector, because in the private sector the working schedule is not respected, it's working more than 40 hours, the salary is smaller, and it's not even given times”.

The reason for the interest young people at all costs want public sector employment is the implementation of the laws and security they have at work, say leaders of the United Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK).
Avni Aydin, chairman of SBASK, says some of the blame is borne by all the governments up to him. This, according to him, has created a perception in general society that being employed in government institutions is easier to enrich.
“Made, nepotism has affected this direction. Three people are accepted for a job in public institutions. I don't rule out any government because all governments have acted in this form. All of the government's relatives are in business relations, whether or not they need that job, Aydin says.
Representatives of civil society view the orientation of young people in the public sector as wrong because, according to them, young people are planning their career in the function of desire rather than analyzing the real opportunities the market offers.
Zulfaj lives from nongovernmental organisation “Fol” has said the private sector has exploited high unemployment by not creating conditions for work, as the process of replacing more workers is very easy.
The main reason is to sign contracts in the public sector, only because of sustainability. However, in a career, I feel that there is little benefit. I think that work is more challenging in the private sector, with all those negative elements, but in the public sector there's not much development of skills and careers for the future”, Zulfay tells Radio Free Europe.
By contrast, according to data from the Kosovo Statistics Agency, the number of employees in 2016 has been over 330, from this number in the public sector around 82 thousand.
And about 240 thousand other citizens are estimated to work in the private sector.
The average gross public sector salary in 2016, according to official data, was 525 euros, while in the private sector during that period it was 371 euros.
But, for more than six years now, the minimum wage continues to remain at <x0ndgrarian” in 130 euros for under 35-year-old employees, and 170 euros for employees over 35-year-olds.
