Palestinian protests began on March 30th at the commemoration of Earth Day, when six Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in 1976.
Demonstrators had continued until May 15th, in which 70 years earlier, ethnic cleansing undertaken by the Israelites forced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians out of their homes, which would later result in the establishment of Israel's state.
