The media report that he has suffered wounds on his shoulder but is out of danger for life.
A spokesman for rescue services told Al Jazeera that Iqbal was entering his vehicle to get away from the rally when a new “lax1> fired him “several times”.
He took a bullet in his left shoulder while moving to the local district hospital, where he is being treated.
