After Merkel, even Macron goes to Russia to meet Putin

French President Emmaneul Macron will visit St Petersburg today, where he will meet with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. There's Iran's nuclear agreement on the agenda, as well as the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine.

This trip is the first of Macro in Russia since becoming president, and comes after German Chancellor Angela Merkel's visit to Russia.

Europe and Moscow are making a diplomatic effort to preserve Iran's agreement, following the threat posed by the withdrawal of America from this agreement, Kosovo passes.

Maintaining this agreement is a rare reconciliation between Moscow and Western countries, which have recently held meetings for crises in Ukraine and Syria.

The meeting comes exactly a year after Macro accused Russian media of propaganda and lies.
