In his words, this should be Washington's response to Russia's intervention in the American presidential election in 2016.
McCain underlined that the American side should seize all possibilities in the field of cyber technology to force Russia to repent because of the attack against the foundations of American democracy.
He also criticised American President Donald Trump's stance, which according to McCain is naming Russia a potential ally. “Putine has never been and will never be our partner”, McCain underlined.
