Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha has announced on the time that the 14-year-old suicide in Kamenica marks the first case of serious murder within the family this year.
But in 2017, five cases of serious family murder were reported. Meanwhile, four cases were recorded in 2016.
Hoxha has shown that another disturbing phenomenon remains domestic violence. Since 2015, three thousand and 534 cases have been reported.
Of them, 172 turns out to be the number of children subjected to parental violence, reports Koha.net.
A total of 1038 cases were reported in 2015, including 51 children, 859 women, and 118 men. A total of 1227 cases were recorded in 2016. Then there were 60 children, 988 women and 179 men.
A total of 1269 cases of domestic violence were recorded in 2017, among them were 61 children, 962 women and 246 men.

After the 14-year-old murder in Kamenica, there were numerous reactions. Among them was the Parliamentary Commission for Human Rights. They, through a communiqué, demanded that the proceedings of the Child Protection Bill should necessarily be accelerated, thus increasing the efficiency of institutions for child protection.
We remember that in March of this year, in the absence of quorum, the Parliament failed to adopt recommendations harmonised by the Parliamentary Groups for domestic violence, even though there was a widespread debate on preventing domestic violence.
