Kosovo's independence is closed issue and Serbia must accept this reality. So said Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj at the Zagreb organised conference on the “experience of the Balkan States in the peaceful resolution of the” conflicts.
The Republic of Kosovo, Limaj, says that very good relations with neighbouring countries are committed to having with Serbia as well.
The number two of Kosovo's government in his address has said it is time for Serbia to play a constructive role and accept the reality created in Kosovo, as preconditions and opportunities for the region to move forward.
The issue of Kosovo's independence is the closed topic, and the whole world knows that. It is time for Belgrade to reflect and accept this reality. I appreciate that Belgrade would help itself. Minority rights, including the Serb one, are guaranteed in the Republic of Kosovo, but Serbia must renounce territorial claims”, Limaj has said among other things at this conference.
Furthermore, Limaj has said Serbia should give up claims on Kosovo and that the time of territorial exchange has ended.
The timing of territorial claims and exchange of territories has ended. They are dangerous thesis, and they should not be considered an option. These tests have led to bloody wars in the '90s. It is time for all of us together to enable the region to integrate into the large European family”, it says, among other things, in Limaj's account on Facebook.
