Lekaj reacts nervously, following request for his dismissal

He has also announced that by Thursday, work will begin on local streets to solve the problems of villages that cross this road.

Today during the day, Kacanik municipality deputy head Ylber Bajra through an open letter called for Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's dismissal of Minister Lekaj because of that decision.

With my minister and deputy despite my insistence on inter institutional communication, we have failed to negotiate! I inform you that residents of the affected villages of the two municipalities have warned violent protests if no solution is found today by 14.00. Trusting you in plenty, prevent evil! Please take the minister to visit the mayors today in question! In the reverse, I publicly request the dismissal of Paul Lekaj”, Bajra wrote on Facebook.

However, Lekaj in his reaction said the decision was not taken for fun and called for co-operation, not for what he called newsmaking.

Elez's Kacanic- Hani Street was closed on May 8th, following the assessment that there is danger of the hill collapse.

I've highlighted it and I've been re-inflammating it, the decision to stop moving on the Kacanik Khan Street has not been taken for personal whims, but after expert assessments that each day more and more pose a risk and therefore must be taken to preserve the lives of citizens and mostly of the people of Çacan, Elezy Khan, and then for everyone else who frequents that segment.

I'm telling you with full responsibility that every day is working to make a quick solution and the way back to work. But we also dare not allow things to be done just to say, any rush means something else, and it can repeat what's likely in almost every year, because it's never been resolved how many years it has been properly, and the problem (danger) once and for all.

We must all contribute that the case, of “the deadlocking” of the road axis that connects us to Macedonia, gets the right solution, and not to call on <x2-demagogics”, as we had the opportunity to read recently.

Every time meetings and clarifications have been requested, not just for this case, but for any problems, since we received the mandate, we've tried to be with everyone, to enable solutions, and we've done the same thing for the alternative ways of Kachanic. On Sunday (May 13th 2018), our teams have been on the ground, along with the leadership of the Kachanik municipality, where the location of the road reconstruction for temporary circulation is located, so they don't understand “the seizure” for news.

We have been in contact and continue to be and have all the support of Prime Minister Haradinaj from the very beginning on issues like all other developments. But I can't help but mention it, because we're realistic and we don't make politics, but we seriously deal with topics, we don't have the magic Archbishop” to solve all problems (all inherited) within the day.
