Kosovo Academy for Public Security Director Ismail Smakqi told KALLXO.com that the best will be accepted.
“It is a huge interest for young people to be Kosovo police officers. This is a good fate for the Kosovo Police and for the Academy to accept the best possible of those competing in this” competition, Smakqi said.
He indicated that up to 300 policemen could be admitted to the open competition.
“It's said to be less than 300, between 250-300, is a matter of police budgets as much as possible to bring, since in the number of 8,000 police officers as Kosovo has, this number can always move, since any police officer or retire, or leave for some reason, in a word, this number is always dependent on those who leave the 911 station” Smakqi told KALLXO.com.
He also spoke of tests to which candidates for police would be subjected.
After the opening of the competition, the police start with their own tests, which are a host of tests that will be subject to the next cadets, and after the trial is completed, police prepare the register, or the cadets to arrive at the” academy, Smacqi indicated.
He added that candidates manage to become police officials only after completing training at the Kosovo Academy for Public Security.
“At the moment of accession, they sign a contract with the Kosovo Police and have the kadet title, come to the Security Academy, begin the qualification process, professional training, which lasts two and a half years. Without completing basic training they cannot be police officials”, Smakqi said.
Police candidates will be subject to a written test of physical skills, interview, psychological test. Medical examination and background verification.
To be fair to competition, candidates must be citizens of the Republic of Kosovo between the ages of 18 and 30 years, having completed middle schooling, being in good physical, mental and emotional condition, not be condemned for any criminal offence, not having a marked tattoo (face, neck, hand), personal integrity, and high ethical values.
