This year's end may be the time when the first specialised prosecutor's indictees will be cleared. Lawyers accredited by the Special Court for the protection of the possible indictees of this court claim that the first charges by the Special can be filed by autumn, writes the newspaper “Zri” today.
This year's autumn may be hot for potential Special Court indictees.
That is because the first Special Prosecutor's act is expected to take place by autumn of this year.
So at least the accredited lawyers believe in representing possible Special Court indictees, or as they are known otherwise as the Special Chambers.
They say they have started working on securing residence in The Hague and preparing their teams.
Lawyer Arianan Koci says that with the attorneys' accredited to represent the parties in the Special Court, all conditions have been met for the Court to start its work. Lawyer Koci says there is no accurate information about when this will happen, yet expectations are for the Court to start its work in the fall of this year. The official beginning of the work of the Court is closely linked to the establishment of charges.
So the moment the first indictment arises, then the court functions, because it begins examining the indictment according to the envisioned legal procedure.
