Kosovars head for obtaining citizenship in Switzerland

In the Aregau Canton, total 2150 foreign nationals were granted Swiss citizenship during 2017.

Kosovo citizens are the first on the list in terms of equipment with the Swiss passport. It's 413 Kosovars with “vicanised” during 2017 in this canton, writes sda.ch, conveys albinfo.ch.

Immediately after Kosovars come the Germans, with 357 new naturalizations and behind them, the Italians, with 336. In fourth place, but with an apparent smaller number -- 166 -- come naturalised with Turkish citizenship.

The canton, late last year, was awaiting 1531 passport requests from 2672 people, said the report released by the Cantonal Bureau of Statistics on Friday.

The municipalities, following the division of the law for citizenship at the municipal level, have sent them for further treatment at cantonal level 1457 requests of 2586 people.

Ten people have withdrawn their demands, while at the same time, 13 people's demands have been rejected.
