Wessel said he has helped and will help every religious community in Kosovo.
We built one of the most beautiful churches in Lapusnik. I am determined that as soon as Muslims of Islamic faith are forgiven on the streets, as in “Dardani”, but in the mosque. We are obliged as institutions and as Kosovo's people to have the synagogue in downtown Pristina”, Wessel said, remembering that once in the centre of the capital there has been a synagogue, destroyed by the communist regime.
“I believe that very soon the Pristina municipality will grant permission for the construction of this synagoge in the centre of the city, where believers will perform rituals in the most dignified way”, he added.
Similarly, the chief governor said he would deepen co-operation between our people and that of Israel, hoping that the state of Israel will pass all barriers and recognise the state of Kosovo.
We will be alongside every greedy people and Jewish people”, Wessel said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Jewish community “Bet Israel”, Ruzhdi Shkodra, asked the state institutions to build the synagogue in Pristina because according to him now ten years their demands have not been realised.
Our demands have not been realized for 10 years. I request that you exercise your authority in the institution for the construction of the synagogue in Pristina”, he said.
