District Court Naomi Rice Buchwald in Manhattan said that “unlocking access to his account @realDonaldTrump would be a violation of the right to free speech”, the BBC reports.
The indictment against Trump and other White House officials stems from his decision to prevent some critics on the internet.
The White House has not yet commented on the judge's decision.
The case was brought by the Institute of First Changes in Columbia University on behalf of seven Twitter users who were blocked by President Trump to criticize him or mock him online.
