Juncker: Italy deserves respect

Italy is facing political problems as parties, the Five Stars and the League have given up efforts to establish the government, following Italian President Sergio Mattarella's decision not to approve the populist parties' proposal for the election of Paolo Savonas in the position of economy minister.

Mattarella has later appointed former International Monetary Fund official Carlo Cottarelli to the post of prime ministerial taskman, urging him to form the new government.
