Mattarella has already held two rounds of talks with party leaders who failed to end the blockade, reports “Retours”, Periscopi broadcast.
A presidential official said Thursday the president would meet party representatives Monday before deciding on the next step. It has several options that remain available when calls have already intensified for new elections.
In the national elections held on 4 March, the centre-right coalition led by the Anti-Emigration League won most of the seats and the 5-Star anti-government movement, emerging as the largest party in the country. The centre-left Democratic Party was ranked third.
A form of veto passage so far has prevented the parties from agreeing to a coalition deal, with friction and frustrations growing during the day. /Periscopi/
