Places have been opened in the referendum Ireland will hold for the abortion law.
The vote will determine whether or not to abolish a portion of the constitution, known as the “The amendment of 8,” that prohibits abortion.
An abortion is currently permitted only when a woman's life is in danger, but not in cases of rape, incest, or a fatal fetus disorder.
More than 3.2 million voters are registered to take part in the referendum, with more than 100,000 new voters registered before the referendum, Kosova Preress follows.
The referendum comes after a decade of debate on abortion in Ireland, and will be the country's sixth vote on the issue.
