The trial examination of Granit Elshani was completed last week, after giving that the final word by the parties in the procedure, and the court had announced that the court's plea will take place 30 May.
The Elshani family member from the Ozdrimim of Peja, Graniti, is charged by the Kosovo Special Prosecutor that on January 2nd 2010, he was introduced to discotheque “City Club” in Pec in order to deprive him of life for the reasons of revenge of family member Kelmendi, Valdini.
As a result of the shots that took place on the second night of 2010 at Peja discotheques were killed and three others injured, including Valdet Kelmendi.
The final word compiled by the prosecution was read in Albanian by translators, where, among other things, it was said that Granit Elshani must be found guilty of killing that Besart Shabi and wounding three others.
On the other hand, according to the EULEX prosecutor's final word, there is sufficient evidence to argue Elshan's guilt for the incident, on January 2nd, 2010.
On the other hand, I defended during the final word that the indictment was raised on the basis of prejudice rather than evidence.
Granit Elshan's first lawyer, Rutec Dodaj, said his defense should be acquitted of charges because, according to him, neither in the indictment nor during the trial has been proven by any evidence of his guilt.
Dodaj said that none of the eyewitnesses identified Granit Elshan as a person who had fired guns inside the bar towards Valdet Kelmendi and Besart Shabbit.
According to the indictment filed against Granit Elshani for the event that took place on the night of January 2nd 2010 at the “City Club”, it is claimed that accused Granit Elshani had entered this discotheque and two pistol “TT” was beginning to shoot in the direction of the late Besart Sobhab and Valdet Kelmendi.
As described in the indictment, on the critical night of Granit Elshani's murder, there was a member of the Kelmendi family, Valddin, but bad luck had been Besart Shabi, who had shot beside him. /Call. com/
