Ilindenian Republic of Macedonia, name for which agreement may be reached

Political party leaders today have held meetings, in which they have discussed the name issue and negotiations with Greece.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in the media statement said the name “Republika Ilindenska Makedonija” is the proposal for which he might compromise with Greece.

“Today at a meeting with state leaders I informed about negotiations with Greece on the name. I informed the president, the chairman of the Parliament that the two countries' governments speak of options that may be acceptable to both countries”.

“The Ilindenian Republic of Macedonia is the proposal it can compromise with Greece. This guarantees the identity of Macedonians, multiethnicity, including Albanians, Roma, Turks, Vlachs and others. Ilinden has no territorial aspirations against any state, including Greece”.

He also told other stories about Ilinden, saying we need the “linden of 4” with which agreement will be reached with Greece, which, according to him, would pave the way for NATO and EU membership, is written in Macedonia.

Prime Minister Zaev asked for support from all parties and citizens, as he said is a very big step, which can close the 25-year issue with Greece.
