Residents have been warned to carry their bags ready to flee as soon as the first command arrives. Dozens of homes have been burned since the volcano erupted in early May, while hundreds of people have abandoned their homes.
Authorities say the increased influx of lava is threatening to close down major highways, something that would leave thousands of people without evacuation, so the latter is being seriously considered.
In addition to inflammatory lava and volcanic ash, authorities also warned residents of the danger of toxic gases created when hot mortar meets with cold ocean water and are now beginning to distribute breathing masks in the population.
Fear of people has increased after reporting for the first injured by the mortar, since no one had been injured by the volcano until now.
Scientists cannot predict whether the mortar will stop or not, so they have advised residents to be willing, since nothing can contain the fiery river if they decide to speed up the pace, leaving their escape as their only option.
