The Kosovo government and the Ministry of Trade and Industry have a priority on Kosovo's economic development and remains committed to creating conditions and facilities for businesses, removing tariff and tax-free barriers to be a competitive market.

So has Minister of Trade and Industry Bajram Hasani said on the occasion of opening the international fair “Expokos” for energy, construction, real estate and technical in Pristina, which will last three days.

Highly praising Kosovo's position in the World Bank's Doing Business report, the minister Hasani says that Kosovo this year is also making great progress to do business, so these fairs, according to him, create bridges of co-operation between local and international producers for exchange of experiences.

We as the Government of Kosovo are doing daily work to enable free trade as much as possible. We are trying every day to work to remove tariff barriers and not tariffs, so that Kosovo is a competitive market. I as minister am very interested in instructing the country even in the field of legislation, to direct Kosovo into a production society, because Kosovo needs to produce. We're trying hard to give a space to producers. Every day the decisions the Kosovo Government is taking to facilitate producers clearly shows that we have a priority development of”, Hasani stressed.

While, Infrastructure Minister Paul Lekaj has said that without the economy, the state cannot exist, and according to him, Kosovo has created good laws and is creating favourable investment environments.

“As the Minister of Infrastructure, we have a priority on road investments that bring economic growth through tourism and the middle economy. So we'll be in each country, when road infrastructure is seen as the only failure to develop a family economy which is removed from the social list and employs people, because we mutually help each other”, Lekaj said.

The director of the British Economic Chamber in Kosovo, Bekim Kastrati, under the opening of the fair, said Kosovo has great potential in mining fields and has invited British companies to invest and investigate.

Kosovo's “Britiania parks a huge market Kosovo companies have to consider as export opportunities, but on the other hand, Britain also parks a major financial market with which many business ideas can be supported in Kosovo. Today in our ward you can meet another company, Maitland. -Smith Technologists, who offer various financial packages to support business activities and exchange between the two countries. As against having some active mines, our potential is much greater in the new areas, which are required to be investigated and discovered. The English company's expertise for this would be welcome”, Kastrati said.

Bekim Xhafa from the CEO fairs organisation said that at the 17th edition of the fair, this year for the first time has the support of the British Economic Chamber in Kosovo.

It has even called the Balkan Portal, at which the fair is taking part in about 50 local and international companies. The main goal of the annual organisation of this fair, according to Xhafa, is to find new business partners and clients both from local and international companies.
