Construction of a third thermal power plant in Kosovo, dubbed New Kosovo, is considered necessary for Kosovo's economic development.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj in an interview for Kosovo's Jjeta show said that despite the cost of the environment, the thermal power plant must be built.
I tell Kosovo's children that without this energy, we're all refugees if we don't produce because we have the trade balance and we have only 12 percent, 88 to 12. If we also need to import the current as suggested by some to buy it from our neighbors, we all need to go refugees”, Haradinaj said.
He also estimated that the new technology of this thermal power plant makes it desirable as the source of electricity for Kosovo in the future.
“The thermal power plant -- New Kosovo -- issuing the newest possible technology that applies to the EU today and is a substitute for najion by the elderly, or A or B -- that has grown tired. True, coal energy is not as clean as other energies, it is not alternative but it is advanced technology”, he said.
Haradinaj participated in the conference for Sustainable Development Week dealing with environmental themes.
In the first part of this show, interviews were shown with the Ambassador of Great Britain to Kosovo, Ruari OyConnell, who spoke about the embassy's agreement with Government and Kosovo's Assembly on deserving employment in public office.
