Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is standing for an official visit to the Vatican, there is hosted by US Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parrol. From the announcement the prime minister made on Facebook, it says recognition of Kosovo's independence by the Vatican is a necessary step.

Kosovo is seeking diplomatic partnership with the Vatican state, and for that, recognition by the Holy See is the necessary step”, the prime minister writes.

In addition, he says that our religious freedom and our Euro-Atlantic orientation are inconsistent values.

Kosovo's “State is an important factor of peace and stability, as well as promoter of good neighbourlyness.

Today's visit and the official reception by Cardinal Parolin is evidence of our orientation, towards establishing strategic partnership with Vatican”, Haradinaj has indicated.

He has stressed that there were warm receptions at the Holy See by Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parrol.

“Cardinal Palolin, I expressed the country's commitment to maintaining and advancing our relations, while His Eminence encouraged us on our Euro-Atlantic path”, Haradinaj says.
