Germany's immigrant office accused of bribery

TV channel “NDR” and daily “Süddeutsche Zeitung” also mention an internal exchange “e-mail”, indicating that “BAMF” has been aware of suspicious procedures, but has been reluctant to investigate the case.
The media in question cite an e-mail message in which the head of the Department responsible requires that the situation be examined quietly “” and “without entering too much into detail”.
Self “BAMF” denies media claims, says it received no “e-mail” of this type. In April, however, the Bremen Prosecutor announced that a former branch official of “BAMF” in this city was put under investigation, following accusations that it and 4 others had taken bribes in exchange for providing asylum for about 1,200 refugees, despite the fact that these individuals failed to meet the necessary criteria, follows the TCh.
Episodes are said to have occurred in the period of 2013-2016. As a result, 18 thousand asylum requests examined in Bremen since 2012 will be verified once again over the next three months.
