The European Union and the countries of the Western Balkans have drawn some common conclusions of economic and financial dialogue, where Kosovo, among other things, agreed to meet the process of certificateification and re-clarification of war veterans.
Meanwhile, this news has been welcomed by the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, who have said re-launching war veterans would save millions of euros in state budgets.
Hysni Gucati, chairman of this organisation, has said about “Ineksonline” that such a thing had been sought a year ago, but that part of the opposition in the Parliament had objected.
“What the European Union said now, we said a year ago that must become the categorying of veterans in order to save Kosovo's budget. I stay in them and call on the Government of Kosovo that it must become the categorying of war veterans, and use that as soon as possible, because this would enable the addition of millions of euros in the state budget.
Otherwise, according to a communique of the EU office in Kosovo, which is still represented by the census, it agreed to explore the possibility of creating an independent monitoring mechanism for fiscal policy.
“Also, Kosovo agreed to complete the process of certificateification and reclassification of war veterans, strengthen institutional capacities for planning and managing investments, and improve access to finance for companies. Authorities committed to improving monetary policy and finalising the framework of banking solutions and crisis management. Kosovo also agreed to establish the Energy Efficiency Fund and approve energy efficiency incentives for the private sector and family users.
Kosovo must complete the system of energy prices and complete a study on a plan for gradual energy tariff growth in order to reflect current costs. Also, Kosovo agreed to approve the new Strategy and Action Plan to fight the informal economy. Kosovo must increase the scope of active labour market measures and conduct an analysis of the needs of skills. Kosovo committed to installing the overall health insurance scheme and increasing the level of records in pre-school education”, it says in communique.
