The European Union's Mission for Rule of Law EULEX will develop a comprehensive plan to ensure that local institutions do not suffer a serious decline in performance before it leaves Kosovo.
The current EULEX mandate expires on June 14th. Even though no final decision has been made by European Union member states, officials from this mission have said that there will be no more EULEX judges and prosecutors in the judicial system, writes “Koha Ditore” today.
But not all competencies this mission will be handed over to local institutions. Some of them will be transported to the EU, meanwhile limited executive functions, E ULEX will hold after June 14th.
However for the period after June 2018, the exact format and the number of EULEX staff, as Berisha-Rizaj has said, are still being addressed and will be subject to a decision by member states.
