EU institutions want all plastic bottles collected for recycling by 2025. The plan will have to be approved by the 28 member states, and later be voted into the European Parliament, the BBC writes.
The EU estimates that stops in question will help prevent the release of 3.4 million tonnes of dioxide-carbon, thus reducing environmental damage, which by 2030, could cost the EU an additional 22 billion euros.
According to estimates, the adoption of the massacre would save buyers 6.5 billion euros.
Cosmetics are obviously a big problem for which Europeans will have to act together to solve this problem. We will stop some of these items, to replace them with cleaner alternatives so that people can buy their favorite products”, European Commission First Deputy Chairman Frans Timmmermans said.
The EU plan does not specify a timeline for the full ban on plastic items that are for a purpose.
Each state will have to engage in an educational campaign, as food producers will be required to mark products clearly, as well as inform consumers of the way plastic waste is removed.
Producers will be encouraged not to produce plastic products, but from stable materials.
