Turkey's president, Recep Tayip Erdogan, condemned “humanitarian tragedy” in Gaza, describing Israeli violence against Palestinian protests like “genocide”, the Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.

What Israel is doing is genocide. Israel is exercising state terror. Israel is a terrorist state”, Erdogan said, speaking to students with scholarships in London.

“We will continue to stay with the Palestinian people with determination”, the Turkish president added.

The Turkish president added that a large rally will be held at Istanbul's Yenikap Square on Friday over the violence in Gaza.

Erdogan called for all people, regardless of religious affiliation, to raise their voices against injustice in Gaza.

Turkey's president also announced that Turkey has declared three days of national mourning in solidarity with Palestinian brothers.

He said that within the framework of the Islamic Co-operation Organisation, during Ramadan, they will organise aid campaigns for Palestinians, together with the member states of this organisation.

Erdogan announced that the Turkish Red Crescent has conducted emergency purchases worth 100 thousand dollars and has started sending these aid to the Gaza hospitals.

Otherwise, Palestinians, who have set up tents on Gaza's border with Israel, are holding sweeping protests under the motto <x0mm-weighing”, which they hold to protest the shift of the US Embassy to Kuds and on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Nachba (Great Disaster), which presents the anniversary of Israel's founding.

Since the morning hours, 55 Palestinians have found death, and another 2,771 have been wounded as a result of the Israeli soldiers' opening fire to participants in protests on the Gaza border. / AA/
