Loera has described her imprisoned son as a hard worker at youth age, telling the prestige “Time” that “ai has always tried for a better life, even when he was a little boy”.
Loera said that there was neither water nor electricity in the youth where El Chapo lived.

“As a young man, Guzman had to help secure food, selling oranges to surrounding villagers and farmers”, she said.
