The bill envisions merit pensions for workers in education who had worked on the parallel education system in the 1990s.
This bill was initiated in 2013 and has so far been rejected because of the budgetary cost.
In the commission on education, science, culture, youth, sports and innovation, there were different opinions on the bill.
Adem Mikolovci, deputy of the Vetevendosje Movement, said this bill has the risk of creating a situation similar to war veterans' lists.
“There is the danger of becoming a mess of war veterans”, Mikulovci said.
While MP Teuta Haxhiu from the Democratic Party of Kosovo said this bill had to be brought to the commission in the long run.
“E have waited during education workers who unfortunately have their deaths. I wish I could stop by what we said they don't need gratitude. Gratitude was received when few could do that. The interest is that since 2013 we have been following recommendations for three months and now it's come”, Haxhi said.
