P DS: LDK not really interested in elections

They have sufficed two political parties' tables to ascertain that the desired expectations cannot be achieved by such means of discussion. While the ruling parties have expected such tables to be opportunities for reaching consensus in support of current governing policies concerning dialogue with Serbia and forming [...]

The first table was called by the opposition Democratic League of Kosovo, and second by one of the ruling parties, from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, respectively.

After the second meeting, both the idea and the establishment of working groups that would draw up political platforms that would then be discussed at party levels and at the end of the level of institutions for approval.

Avdullah Hoti, head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo, told Radio Free Europe, that regardless of whether or not groups will be formed for drafting plans for topics talked about dialogue, association, electoral reforms and transforming the Kosovo Security Force from them, according to him there can be nothing relevant.

Hoti said there is currently no parliamentary majority in the Assembly, and without the parliamentary majority, he underlined, institutions cannot be led.

We have to agree on how the country can go to new elections, and during this period we have to deal with how national importance topics should be addressed so that institutions are not paralyzed. This is the whole essence of these tables. Anything else that goes beyond them, the Democratic League does not support them and does not become part of them”, Hoti said.

Meetings between political parties, Hoti continued, may continue, but the goal according to him is for the country to move as soon as possible to elections with a common agreement on the date. He said the LDK's goal is to have legitimate and functional institutions.

The Assembly's <x0... The parliamentary commission meetings have begun to fail. Last week, the government meeting failed. So it's a crisis”, Hoti said.

On the other hand, in the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, a party that participates and leads with the Government of Kosovo say that on the election issue there is no readiness, not even to talk.

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo's Parliamentary Group, Ahmet Isufi, as part of these meetings, told Radio Free Europe that the topic for dialogue with Serbia -- that for the military and others -- is more important than the election issue.

Isufi stressed that already from the reconciliation reached at the last meeting of political parties, commissions will be formed, which in detail will make plans to discuss topics.

He said that for topics of importance [such as dialogue with Serbia] the government has plans and strategies, but with those that can come out of political parties it can join in having as many results as possible.

“Synchronize elements which could be on a platform to have as detailed content as possible, because in the past, there were mistakes in progress, precisely not forming a common consensus among political parties in Kosovo”, Isufi said.

Even in the new party, the Social Democrat Party say the country is in crisis and as a party will try to get the country out of this situation. MP Frasher Krasniqi said the PSD will continue to give recommendations and will take part in these meetings.

We'll make it clear on these tables. We have now created a form on the question of dialogue and on the issue of how we see social organisation in Kosovo to overcome some problems as a result of which we are in a hurry and a political crisis”, Krasniqi said.

Krasniqi has launched criticism in the direction of the LDK, saying she is failing to show serious concern in her attitudes and actions regarding the current political situation.

I think there should be a clarification on the part of LDK which is not looking at any serious in its initiative, because it actually came up with the idea of going to a vote of confidence in the government, and now it's not behind this idea. Thus, it seems there is no opposition effort”, Krasniqi said.

The tables organised by political parties to discuss issues, described as major, according to connoisseurs of political developments in Kosovo, are not expected to produce any results.

According to them, there are big differences and differences in political parties on important topics, so it is estimated that compromises will be difficult to achieve, either for a unique platform about talks with Serbia, electoral reforms or even constitutional changes.
