By 75 votes, therefore, 30 against and 74 abstentions, Danish lawmakers have approved the law on preventing hyjab or burkas. This law was approved by the centre-right coalition, which governs the country.

But the law, which is also known as “Burkas prevention”, is seen as insulting by Muslim women. Several Muslim women in Denmark cover the entire body in traditional Islamist dress, reports The Guardian”, the Periscope broadcast.

The Law on Banning Burkas in the Danish state came as states such as Austria, France and Belgium have acted the same, with the decision implemented by 1 August of this year.

This action has challenged “Amnesty International”, in which the chief of the international organisation has said that “all women are free to dress as they wish. This ban will have a negative impact on Muslim women who have chosen to dress in hyjab and burka”. /Periscopi/
