Dacic complains of Djuric arrest, urges continued dialogue

The chief of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dacic, has expressed his concern over the demands of several UN member states for cutting off KS Kosovo hearings and closing UNMIK's work, saying the situation in Kosovo continues to be fragile. The only way for sustainable solutions is [...]
The only way for sustainable solutions is dialogue and should be continued with this dialogue, and the KS should help find a solution, and this is important for the stability of the entire region. Demands to change UNMIK's mandate actually do not help achieve these goals”, he said.
Dacic said agreements must be reached signed with the Kosovo side in Brussels without additional conditions. He has also referred to the UN secretary-general's quarterly report, said they are shocked by the murder of Serbian leader Oliver Ivanovic, whose perpetrators have not yet been brought to justice, though from official Pristina had been promised to do their best to whiteen the case. The Serbian chief diplomat has even cited the case of Marko Djuric's arrest in northern Mitrovica, calling it inappropriate behaviour by Kosovo institutions. He has said Djuric's illegal arrest, his beating and his dragging on a hatred along the streets of Pristina was unprecedented humiliation in diplomacy history.
“How can Djuric again sit at the negotiating table after such treatment”, he said, adding that it is not true that the announcement of his visit is delayed.
This is an act of provocation that has endangered the dialogue. It is a testimony to the fragility of the situation in Kosovo. We have been disappointed with the EU's lack of rapid reaction”, Dacic has indicated.
He has also accused KFOR of closing its eyes to the Kosovo Police while in action for the arrest of Djuric, who had entered Kosovo without permission.
