A report released Wednesday, the International Research Institute for Peace (SPIRI) has estimated that military expenditures reached $1.73 trillion in 2017, increasing 1.1% a year ago.
The U.S. remained at the world's largest cost of $610 billion, unchanged year-on-year. The US accounts for 35 per cent of global military expenditures, more than seven other countries that have high military spending as well.

Its defence budget is expected to grow markedly this year, reports “Alzeera”, the Perixopi broadcast.
China is currently in second place with $28 billion. And Saudi Arabia and Russia rank third with 69, $4 billion in 2017.
States like France and India spend almost $64 billion. And Great Britain (47, $2 billion), Japan (45, $4 billion), Germany (44, $3 billion), and South Korea (39, $2 billion), are other countries that complete the list of 10 countries at the largest military expense in the world. /Periscopi/
