22 May has been declared by the United Nations as International Biological Diversity Day, or World Biodiversity Day, with the aim of increasing consciousness and deeper understanding of biodiversity issues.
For the first time, this day has been set by the second Committee of the United Nations General Assembly on December 29, 1993, marking the date of the Convention on Biological Diversity to effect. 22 May as International Biodiversity Day has a major global theme of the integration of biodiversity and is dedicated to supporting people and living communities.
On May 22nd, the Ministry of Environment and Planning in co-organised with municipalities, NGOs “ERA”, “FINQ”, “K ERC” and civil society mark this date at the campus of “University Haji Zeka” in the Pec municipality, 10:00.
