The U.S. Army will continue to remain in South Korea around 29,000 American soldiers are based in South Korea, thanks to an agreement reached after the end of the war in 1953.

The government of South Korea has announced that American troops will continue to stay in the country, as long as the agreement on the two Koreas' war was finally reached formally.

North Korea has recently pledged to give up using nuclear weapons.

However, the South Korean authorities have been very cautious in sharing this vow with the presence of American troops in the country.

At last week's meeting, South Korean President Moon Yae, and North Korea's Kim Jong agreed on the deregulation of the peninsula, also signing peace treaty, reports the BBC.
