Such a situation for decades has been the fate of Palestinians, who have been dealt with routinely when they were killed by Israeli Israelis and not only by the Israeli government but also by the American media and establiment that we now have basic expectations to predict.
But we cannot accept that. By paying close attention to the media language, we can see how this double death of the oppressed and we can learn how to resist such a subtle way of creating Palestinian war, reports The Guardian<18x1>, the Periscope broadcast.
Consider media headlines. On Monday, the Israeli Army killed more than 60 protesters in Gaza. Violence was unilateral. No Israeli has been killed, and in this case we have an apparent disproportionate. In the middle of the massacre, the New York Times announced through a status in Titter for the bloody event. Their status in Titter read “Palestinians died in protests after the United States is doing the official opening of the embassy in Jerusalem”.
How many dead? Really? It should be noted that passive voice in this status hides the performance of an action in which it is precisely the passive voice that builds a culture of oppression. In this status, Israel is not responsible for killing protesters. Rather, Palestinians seem to have died mysteriously.
But the Times is not the only one with this annoying news. “The Washington Post” wrote “Gaza buried her dead, where the death toll on Israel's border protest marks at least 60:x3>. Again, the title presents us with a question, who are the assassins of the dead in Gaza?
“The Wall Street Jornal” published a video on their website titled “Facing the new US Embassy in Jerusalem leaves dozens dead”.
Newsers are served so that Palestinians deliberately turn to bullets caused by the Israelites.
