Public health institutions are facing a lack of certain drugs from the essential list, which are necessary for treatment of patients. The budget shared for these drugs is emerging to be insufficient for meeting all requirements.
Health Ministry Information Officials have told the newspaper “Voice” that 28m euros, which are earmarked for the drug supply of the essential list, are not enough to meet all the needs for the medicines.
Even directors of general hospitals in Kosovo have indicated that drug supplies are not being done over time and that there is a shortage of them. While the lack of the latter is already pushing patients to buy them on their own at private drugs.
