While Turkish citizens make up most of these applications, there are 3 applications from the citizens of Afghanistan and another from Syria.
Likewise, 2 applicants are awaiting a decision to grant or refuse asylum status, and 29 others are in the application phase.
Meanwhile, the largest number of requests for residence permits in Kosovo during April have made citizens of Albania (159), those of Turkey (142) and Serbia (62).
Besides, mostly residence permits in this period have won Albanian citizens (52), Serbs (30) and Turks (28).
On March 29th, 6 Turkish citizens, who were teachers and members of the Fentullah Gylen movement, left Kosovo without warning.
Government institutions and police have called this evacuation a deportation, while the ombudsman has said on Kosovo's “Directorate of Justice” that Turkish citizens have been extradited.
