While Turkish citizens make up most of these applications, there are 3 applications from the citizens of Afghanistan and another from Syria.

Likewise, 2 applicants are awaiting a decision to grant or refuse asylum status, and 29 others are in the application phase.

Meanwhile, the largest number of requests for residence permits in Kosovo during April have made citizens of Albania (159), those of Turkey (142) and Serbia (62).

Besides, mostly residence permits in this period have won Albanian citizens (52), Serbs (30) and Turks (28).

On March 29th, 6 Turkish citizens, who were teachers and members of the Fentullah Gylen movement, left Kosovo without warning.

Government institutions and police have called this evacuation a deportation, while the ombudsman has said on Kosovo's “Directorate of Justice” that Turkish citizens have been extradited.

The Turkish government has accused Fettullah Gylenn of attempting military border on July 15, 2016 and has demanded his extradition from the United States.

Also, the newspaper “Koha Ditore” reported that one of the debtors was misported due to a name similar to one of the people for whom there was an order for deportation. / BIRN
