Washington Post: Trump will not run in next election

Referring to Donald Trump's presidential crisis and republican lack of support, Washington Post wrote about its failure to run in the 2020 elections and said the lack of Trump's participation in the upcoming elections is becoming increasingly clear every day.

Most Americans are concerned that US President Donald Trump will bring the United States into a new conflict, according to a recent survey. The survey by the US think tank YouGov, released Wednesday, found that 56 per cent of respondents said Trump would plunge the country into another war.

Some 28 percent felt that a new war was “very possible”, and 9 percent thought it was “very safe”. Only 16 percent thought US entry into a new war that it was “the possible minimum” and 9 percent thought it was the “impossible”. America's concerns about a possible war may have been triggered by the last missile attack in Syria ordered by Trump in response to a suspected attack with chemical weapons. A poll conducted in October 2017 by NBC Nea found that 72 percent of Americans are concerned that the country may be involved in a conflict over the next four years.

Following the misuse of military competencies by the American president, the United States Congress is making an effort to bring the president's powers under control in this area. In a plan put forward by both US parties on the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee, the US president is barred from ordering the launch of war on any country or any terrorist group without taking prior confirmation and approval of Congress. The plan aims to review the law adopted after the 11 September 2001 terrorist event, known by the name of the law allowing the president to use the army to attack terrorists in order to limit the president's competence in the matter.

In the American Constitution, competencies for the launch and declaration of war belong to Congress, while the law on war competencies adopted in 1973 has also established specific conditions for the American president regarding the use of the military in conflicts and conflicts abroad. However, in addition to the five wars that have been confirmed and permitted by Congress, dozens of other American wars were fought without confirmation of this institution, and none of the American presidents respected the 1973 law provisions. Even the law allowing the use of the military in attacks against terrorists adopted to counter al-Qaeda and the Taliban group has also not been implemented in precise form.
