On April 13th, German Chancellor Angela Merkel expects the head of the Serbian state, Aleksandar Vuciq, the German Chancellor's office, to visit again.
At the heart of the visit are talks on bilateral relations, but regional issues as well.
Vuciq is expected to negotiate proposals with Merkel for a solution to the decades-long conflict with Kosovo. The Serbian president and German Chancellor will have a joint lunch on Friday, DW reports.
In this context, the Serbian president has spoken over the phone with Chancellor Merkel on Friday (06.04) discloses the media, as well as the resolution of the conflict with Kosovo. Vuciq has indicated he will make proposals for a sustainable solution to relations with Kosovo.
Berlin intensifys talks with Serbia on resolving the Kosovo conflict. Vuciki's visit to Germany is the second time within two months, as he was hosted by the German Chancellor in late February.
It is known that Serbia can get closer to Brussels only if it eventually gives solution to the conflict with Kosovo. Kosovo, recognised by more than 110 states, is not recognised by some EU countries. Members like Spain, Romania or Cyprus have even threatened to block the Bulgarian presidency's May Western Balkan summit in Sofia if Kosovo is invited as an equal state. Greece and Slovakia also reject recognition of Kosovo as an independent state.
