Supporting Workers and Their Rights
Exploitation, threats and high risk at work have plagued Kosovo workers by desecrated their rights. The current labour law itself discriminates against them, but even those provisions of this law aimed at supporting and protecting the minimum at work are not respected. On the one hand, most people in Kosovo are unemployed, on the other hand, most of those on the job are under pressure from different backgrounds, whether to work without contracts, or without basic health and life insurance, whether under the constant threat of layoffs.
Kosovo needs to bring together workers and unemployed to transform this situation, which has been created as a result of an economic model that has unified political power with oligarchic business interests in the direct attack on workers. This attack is accomplished through the contents of the legal framework as well as through its poor application, to strike the worker economically, and to sign it, treating it as a commodity of consumption.
This year, after a long time of BSPK inactivity, May 1 will be marked in Pristina through a protest that has been called exactly by BSPK with several demands by which Movement V. It's okay. We offered him. B The SPK many days ago our help with co-ordination and implementation of the May 1st protest, with the aim of pushing ahead to realise the rights of workers in Kosovo. We have done this by taking into account our social democrat beliefs and orientation that we have in focus sustainable economic development through the protection of workers and the full respect of labour rights.
Our readiness has not been taken into account, however, the V Movement EVIDENCE! praises the fact that the BSPK has decided to hold this protest on May 1st, and we hope that the protest will accomplish its goals and mark an important step towards the dynamisation of union work in Kosovo. MPs and Movement activists will participate in the protest.
