The failure of Chief Special Court Prosecutor David Schwedjman's mandate has prompted this Court to delay further the start of the establishment of charges for “War crimes in Kosovo”.
Officials from the Special Prosecutor for “Zerin” say Kwai Hong Ip is the expert prosecutor who will remain in this position until a new chief prosecutor is elected.
At the end of March has expired the mandate of Special Court Chief Prosecutor David Schwendiman, who has been replaced by prosecutor Kwai Hong Ip. Christopher Bennett, spokesman at the Special Prosecutor's Office, has told “Zerin” that Kwai Hong Ip is the Action Attorney and will remain in this position until a new chief prosecutor is elected, but until this happens the competencies of Hong Ipi will be the same as Schwedjman's.”
On the other hand, organisers of this process, officials from the European Union Office have told “Zer” that the process of recruiting for appointment of a new expert prosecutor is under way and are expected to be proposed the candidates worthy of that position.
