Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj has obeyed Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's order to free the post, with five days late. But the next official who last Friday was “released from duty” by AKI Prime Minister Driton Gashi CHA continues to remain in office, protected by President Thaci, whose reconciliation is necessary for the dismissal of the AKI leader, writes Koha Ditore today.
The removal of Sefaj and Gashi has been sought by Haradinaj following the scandal with the arrest and deportation of six Turkish citizens.
In his letter of resignation, Sefaj, now the former prime minister, has said to inform Kosovo's prime minister in detail regarding the process of deportation of Turkish citizens and its involvement in law enforcement in that process.
For his resignation, he has initially announced the party he belongs to. The AKR, through a communiqué, has said Sefaj has not been a decision-making factor and has only implemented the law in terms of AKI demand, which under the Constitution has estimated that higher persons pose a danger to Kosovo's national security. “As far as informing the prime minister of this process, AKI is obliged by law to report at the same time to the prime minister, so it should be clarified whether or not this happened”, the AKR report said.
