Tass, the Kremlin-backed news agency, has reported that Moscow officials will be sent to Syria, saying the “ata are advocates of law and order in the country”.
Russia will send military forces to the Syrian city of Douma, where Assad's regime took full control, and eventually there were also chemical weapons uses.
This comes after the organisation for the ban on chemical weapons warned of sending investigators to Douma to request evidence concerning the chemical attack.
Britain's prime minister, Theresa May, is expected to hold an urgent cabinet meeting to discuss the recent crisis in Syria, leaving open the possibility of joining the US in military action warned by the Pentagon against President Bashar Assad's regime.
