Senior test questions won't be the same throughout Kosovo

The test of the State Mathura this year will be held in four regions, in four different days, with the aim of achieving as real as possible and having a better exam management.

Although the test will be organised in separate regions and not for one day, even test questions will be different.

State Math Commission Chairman Fehmi Hyssenaj, in an interview for Kosovo Press, has voiced confidence that the organisation of the state-run seniorship in four regions will be a better form for the administration of the test.

The main reason why we have decided this time to be across the regions and not to be on the same day in all of Kosovo is that the question that in previous years, it has failed exactly the administration of the test. When I say it's failed, I can say it's failed largely because the results produced by that test haven't been real. This will, however, be a form of easier, better management, and we expect students who have achieved results during the three years of middle schooling to be the first. Not as it has been in the past that maybe a student with a good success is among the first”, Hysenaj said.

The state-owned Matura test will have 200 questions, where the passage of this test is 40 per cent and for each region the questions will be different.

The questions will not be the same, the experts we hired from the division with a contract they are most of them university professor and will be required by them to make tests equivalent, but by no means the same. No question can be the same from one region to another, but equivalent is in value.

For the best test management, MAST has taken several measures to eliminate the possibility of copying during the test.

Students will not be able to access the test by telephones, and this time the phones are also banned for the managers.

“All measures under the law have been envisioned, have been earlier but have not been implemented, this time strictly implemented. We'll make contracts with all the acters who are involved in this process and under those contracts there will be clauses where they can even lose their jobs and initiate legal procedure for them. Students fighting inside the classroom, if the measures are announced, may also be disfellowshipped, may be warned the first time, but this time the test will be held in much safer conditions. It means the question of cheating we're going to prevent, and normally the managers will see to it that it's a friendly environment, an environment for students to know, can and give their maximum”, Hysenaj said.

Even the number of students in classrooms during the exam will be limited, where there can be no more than 15 students in one class.

“Minnimum will be 15 students in one classroom, 15, 16, 17, means that it will behave, there won't be much, but depending on a class where a part of two-three students remain does not become a new class. So approximately 15 students will be, an administrator will be in charge of 15 students, while for five managers he will be an overseer who will monitor them for five managers. Each test centre will have the chairman of the commission and two members from the DKA”, he indicated.

Just as every year the test will be divided in two days, when on the first day the test will be of the general Albanian language, mathematics and English languages, and the second day will have questions depending on their education profile.

The testing of the State Mathura will first be subject to the Ferizaj and Gjilan region, where the first test will be held on May 28th in this region, while the second test on June 5th.

Just a day later on May 29th, the first prom exam will be submitted to the Pristina region, while the second test will take place 6 June. On May 30th, the first test, while on June 7th, the second test will hold the Prizren and Gjakova region. As of May 31st, the first test and 8th of June, the second test will hold the Peja and Mitrovica region.

The state-run senior test will undergo 29 thousand and 816 students all over Kosovo.
