Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has said today on International Roma Day that, along with the Roma community, do everything for this community to have a better life.

Haradinaj has congratulated 8 April on the language of this community.

I believe every taboo or any obstacle in our path will be selected together. We have drafted the strategy and in its implementation we will only find resources, support for this strategy, but also mutual will of all levels of our institutions and municipal ones so that Roma children when they begin schooling will be supported both in textbooks and in the possibility of learning in their own language”, Haradinaj said.

Kosovo Parliament MP Albert Kinoll, who thanked Prime Minister Haradinaj for the continued support he is giving to this community, has also spoken at this event.

He said that he has already changed the form of the celebration of this day, which in the past years has been different from today.

That is because, as Kinoll said, more will work and less talk.

This is a pleasure and privilege to us because the Roma of Kosovo are distinguished by the Roma of the region, we stand out because we are proud and I believe we are the only ones institutionally to celebrate April 8, the day of the Roma. It used to be a tradition to have tables here, give speeches and come up with recommendations that unfortunately very few have found application. Kosovo's government, led by Ramush Haradinaj, has a duty to the citizens, given previous practices for very little to speak and much more to act”, Kinoli said.

Gazmend Salijevic from the Consultative Council for Communities said the Roma community faces poverty and does not solve their numerous problems. Salijevic also expressed thanks to the government and Prime Minister Haradinaj for supporting this community.

Salijevic also mentioned the unemployment of this community and the small number of students from this community.

There are no students employed in institutions, and I hope this mirror will change”, Salijevic said.

Finally, representatives of the Roma community shared gratitude for Prime Minister Haradinaj.
