Rama gives Russian Patriarch Skenderbeu's statue

While Russian Patriarch Kiril during a meeting in Tirana has praised the work of Prime Minister Edi Rama until he was mayor for changing the appearance of the Albanian capital, the head of government has not hesitated to donate a statue of national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu, in hopes that Kiril will keep him in his office.

The patriarch himself thanked Rama for the changes in Tirana, when he was mayor, saying that the aesthetic “issues play a major role in human life”.

“I am very impressed by the achievements in Tirana, they are really extraordinary changes. Tirana is now a beautiful city. The great credit belongs to you, as mayor of Tirana, and I commend you for the great deeds you have performed in that post. Aesthetic issues play a big role in human life, aesthetics is an outer page of harmony, but when we talk about harmony, we don't just talk about outside things, but I can stress the close link between people's culture and church work. On a visit I won't tell you specifically where I was, I had the opportunity to meet modern art examples”, Patriarch Kiril said.

While Prime Minister Rama said the Russian Patriarch's visit coincides with the 110th anniversary of the Albanian Autocephare Church.
